American Hospice is currently seeking a healthcare professional to fill the following position:


MIS Support Specialist (Nurse)

 

Job Summary:
American Hospice is seeking a dynamic nursing professional, with hospice and information technology experience, to provide day-to-day assistance, education, and leadership to American Hospice team members that are learning and utilizing the electronic medical records system. The MIS Support Specialist ensures the delivery of a quality education and training experience to all team members and provides continuous support during utilization of the system. This competent and experienced health care professional should exhibit behaviors of accountability, flexibility, respect, and collaboration to help American Hospice fulfill its common purpose of creating a compassionate circle of support for our patients and families by providing the finest, individualized end-of-life care.


Qualifications:

  • A degree in nursing with previous experience in hospice and/or home health is preferred.
  • Computer skills necessary for data management. Automated medical billing experience in a hospice, nursing home, or hospital is preferred.
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, and terminology used in medical records.
  • Demonstrated competency and knowledge in the training and support of electronic medical records users.
  • Independence in planning and managing technical support activities is critical.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Candidates must be detail oriented, dependable, and highly organized.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated active listening skills. 
  • Schedule flexibility is a necessity with the ability to travel to AH business units outside of home state when the need arises.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and the minimum state required liability automobile insurance or access to reliable transportation.
